Fall 2024 Ceremony
Penn State Altoona's fall 2024 commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 21, at 11:00 a.m. in the Arena of the Adler Athletic Complex at Penn State Altoona. The ceremony will also be live-streamed on this site.

Tickets
At this time, we don't anticipate that a ticketing system will be necessary for the commencement ceremony at the Adler Arena, but we will evaluate the need based on graduate numbers.

Professional Photography
To commemorate this milestone occasion, a professional photo will be taken of each graduate being congratulated by the chancellor. No pre-orders will be taken. Photos can be viewed and ordered after commencement by visiting the Film Center's Web site.
To avoid congestion and maintain decorum during the ceremony, we ask that family and friends refrain from approaching the platform when taking pictures or using a video camera.
Flowers

Commencement Speaker
Dr. Nicholas Rowland
Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Penn State Altoona
Nicholas Rowland was first elected to Penn State’s Board of Trustees, effective July 1, 2021, as the University’s Academic Trustee and, in 2024, was re-elected to a second three-year term. He was nominated for the role by the University Faculty Senate, for which he served as Chair during the 2019-2020 academic year. Rowland is a distinguished professor of sociology at Penn State Altoona. He holds a master’s degree and a doctoral degree from Indiana University, as well as a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, each in sociology.
